The Birdcage legend, who had a history of depression, took his own life in August, 2014 at the Marin County, California home he shared with Susan.

His widow has now given her first TV interview to America's ABC News, and she struggled to hold back her tears as she recalled the moment she learned of the 63 year old's tragic passing.

"I just screamed, 'Robin, what happened? What did you do?'" Susan tells newswoman Amy Robach.

The coroner's official report on his death ruled the star's demise was caused by asphyxiation after he hanged himself with a belt.

Susan admits she still misses him desperately, and in a teaser for the interview, which is due to air on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Tuesday (03Nov15), she claims their marriage was everything she had ever wanted.

She gushes, "It's the best love I ever dreamed of."

The news of Susan's interview emerges weeks after she dropped a lawsuit against her three stepchildren, Zachary, Zelda and Cody, who she had been battling with over the actor's estate.

The Mrs. Doubtfire star's third wife claimed his kids from previous relationships had been trying to keep her from getting money she needed to continue living in her marital home, as per Williams' final wishes.

After a year spent battling over everything from Robin's awards and photos to his watch and bike collections, the two parties reached a confidential settlement in early October (15), prompting Schneider to drop her claims against the estate.

At the time, her attorney James Wagstaffe told the Associated Press, "Susan gets to enforce Robin's wishes. She gets to stay in the house as Robin wanted, with the trust being created to pay the expenses."
