One of the most beloved actor's in Hollywood, Robin Williams, has tragically passed away aged 63. The legendary comedian was found dead in his California home on Monday (Aug 11th) after reportedly committing suicide.

Williams was found unresponsive and unconscious at 12 p.m. at his home in Tiburon, Calif., according to reports by the Marin County Sheriff's Office-Coroner Division and his own team of representatives.

"Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late," his publicist, Mara Buxbaum said in a statement. "This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."

The authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of Williams' death, but coroners already suspect that the Oscar-winning actor committed suicide by asphyxiation, and a full forensic examination will be carried on Tuesday (Aug 12th).

The 'Mrs. Doubtfire' star's wife has since released a statement, expressing how "utterly heartbroken" she is after hearing the news of her husband's passing.

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings," she stated. "I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

Williams, who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in 1997's 'Good Will Hunting', reportedly entered a Minnesota rehab facility last month to "fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment" to maintaining sober. It was believed that the late actor didn't have any setbacks nor did he fall off the wagon, but he is just taking precautions to avoid relapsing.

The funnyman had always been very open about his past struggles with drugs and alcohol abuse, but after being sober for 20 years he relapsed while filming the 2005 movie 'The Big White.' A year later he entered rehab and had been clean ever since. R.I.P Robin Williams.
