Sorry, Marvel nerds, no Dr. Strange news for you. But here's a bunch of other stuff!
No one is surprised that Marvel had big things prepared for their Comic-Con panel, after all it’s the biggest industry event of the year. Those, who missed out on a seat in Hall H, however, won’t have to wait long for the recaps and news leaks to start pouring in, not including (unfortunately) the long awaited announcement of the actor cast to play Dr. Strange in the upcoming film, HitFix reports.
RDJ won't be the (only) star of the show this time.
The panel, which featured the longest superhero lineup of any event ever (we’re guessing here) included Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), James Spader, who will be introduced as Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Josh Brolin, who was announced as the voice of Thanos. And breathe.

Beyond the lineup, however, the panel didn’t fulfil too many fan expectations. While predictions claimed that the talk would be more Guardians and Dr. Strange-oriented, there were no announcements made about the latter (tell us who it is, Marvel!) As for Guardians, the movie is such a hit even before its release, that the studio has made a blind gamble and green-lit a sequel already! Yay… maybe.
Marvel's release schedule is getting increasingly ambitious, with a second Guardians announced before the first one's release.
The main focus, as you can probably tell from the lineup, was Age of Ultron and the studio did not disappoint on that front, with a bunch of new footage from the 2015 movie. This time around, the stars explained, the focus would be placed more on the new and previously ignored superheroes, rather than The Big Three and, let’s be honest for a second, Downey’s character.
"It keeps getting better," Downey said. "This is the longest bench of talent I've ever been apart of and we have a really good movie coming out for you next year." He also added, perhaps looking for some sympathy, "I've become a little less significant every time, which is fine because they are just so damn good."

So… err…. that’s cool, probably. Expect the footage to make its way online in the coming days and weeks, as we near Guardians release day.
