Bill Murray, sir, you have competition. It turns out Robert De Niro is a pretty keen party crasher himself and during a visit to Brooklyn's Cobble Hill neighbourhood to shoot new movie The Intern this week, the man himself made himself at home at a random house to watch the United States and Germany game.

A neighbour told Business Insider that their apartment building got an email from Warner Bros asking if they could help De Niro see the game.

"Our lead actor, Robert DeNiro, would very much like to watch the World Cup game, today at 12p," the email read. "Would it be possible to place a small portable satellite on the building rooftop ASAP and run a cable to the street to help facilitate this request?"

According to the neighbor, the Taxi Driver actor apparently ended up getting invited to a nearby house where he could watch the game with fellow States fans.

"We got another email from a neighbor saying he talked to the crew and apparently he found a house of people watching it and joined them," the neighbor said.

Until now, Bill Murray has always been the godfather of party crashing. Just a couple of weeks ago, the Ghostbusters actor crashed a bachelor party in Charleston and dished out some sage advice for the groom. A couple of days later, he crashed an engagement photoshoot.

The USA ended up losing their final World Cup group stage game against Germany, however they are still through to the elimination rounds.
