The couple, married since 2010, was sued in May (15) for $25,000 (£15,625) in damages by a former assistant Gilles De Bonfilhs, who alleges he was wrongfully terminated in January (15) after a short stint in their employment.

During that period, Bonfilhs claims Field shared inappropriate details about her sex life, asked him questions about his bedroom habits, and walked around their home scantily-clad.

A representative for the couple denied the allegations and tried to get the case dismissed, but at a recent hearing in Los Angeles, a judge refused a dismissal and set a trial for next August (16), according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.

The couple, who are parents to two children, are expected to face inquiries into their sex life as part of the case.

At the time of the lawsuit, their representative said, "The claims being made by a disgruntled former employee, after he was sacked (fired) for serious misconduct, are entirely without substance... Any proceedings will be strenuously defended. There will be no further comment on the matter as it is in the hands of the lawyers."

The couple later filed a countersuit alleging Bonfilhs was useless at his job.
