The Voice has been a charting success since its debut series though it's yet to discover a star that has achieved mainstream success, unlike the X-Factor. The third season was won by the soulful baritone-voiced Jermain Jackman, though he's yet to release a debut album. Previous winners were Leanne Mitchell and Andrea Begley but neither enjoyed chart success.

Moira Ross, The Voice UK's executive producer, said: "The Voice has gone from strength to strength with each passing year and series four promises to be bigger than ever."

Season 4 of The Voice launches in January 2015, one month after The X-Factor concludes its current season.
