Although she's just as likely to be seen out partying as she is on stage, you can't say that Rihanna doesn't work hard. The 24 year-old star, who first came to global prominence with her hit Umbrella in 2006 after a couple of popular UK and US charting singles, is now building up to the release of her seventh album in seven years. Imagine Guns N Roses trying to pull off a schedule like that. Carnage.
The build-up is gaining added momentum, reports Rolling Stone, with the news that new single Diamonds will be receiving its first airplay in the USA on Wednesday (September 26th). Speaking in a recorded interview, RiRi commented "It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive . . . And I just think the gears are a little different from what people would expect, I think; and I'm excited about that, I'm excited to surprise them sonically."
It may well be a relief for the star that she'll be back in the headlines for career reasons rather than the furore that's continued over her relationship with Chris Brown, with many speculating that she might be back with the star who once assaulted her. Further details about the new album are as yet unknown, though she will be back on the road again in March.
