The grieving mother of the young leukaemia victim Rihanna befriended during the girl's cancer fight is upset because she has not heard from the singer since her daughter's death.
Six-year-old Jasmina Anema captured the Umbrella hitmaker's heart in 2008 after the youngster's desperate family appealed online for bone marrow donors.
The singer supported the public appeal, alongside Canadian actress Jill Hennessy, singer Kelly Rowland, and others. Rihanna kept in close contact with Jasmina, and admitted she was left "heartbroken" when the child passed away in hospital in January (10).
On Saturday (27Feb10), an anonymous 'poster' on matriarch Thea Anema's official Twitter.com page, ONEFORJASMINA, slammed the star.
The note, which has since been deleted, read: "It has been a month since Jasmina's passing. Still not even a card or text message from Rihanna. Did she use my child for a publicity stunt?"
Anema has denied writing the scathing post, but admits she is disappointed she hasn't heard from Rihanna since Jasmina passed.
In an email to People.com, she clarifies: "Friends have helped me with all kinds of stuff and many know the passwords to my personal e-mail... and also Twitter. Although I did not Tweet this particular one, I do wish that Rihanna had responded to me on Jasmina's passing. It would have meant the world to me.
"Jasmina adored her. Rihanna was so kind to come and visit her. I just felt hurt not hearing anything from her. Or of any other celebrities for that matter. The only ones who reached out to me personally during this time of grief were (U.S. First Family) The Obamas."
