Amazon are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the land of the streaming services, as they continue to expand their original programming portfolio. This time, the company have just announced five new series which have received the green light, after Prime users voted last month during the first pilot season of 2015.

Shawn Ryan's 'Mad Dog's, Ridley Scott's 'The Man in the High Castle', Alex Gibney's docu-series 'The New Yorker Presents' as well as 'Just Add Magic' and 'The Stinky & Dirty Show' have all been ordered to full series, to premiere later this year and in 2016.

Pilot episodes of all five titles were made available to Amazon's Prime members last month, with viewers being able to leaving ratings and comments. The feedback was then used by Amazon to determine which shows would go on to become original series.

‘Mad Dog’s’ is the US remake of the popular British series which ended its run on UK television in 2013. Produced by 'The Shield's' Shawn Ryan, Steve Zahn, Billy Zane, Michael Imperioli and Romany Malco will all star in the black comedy, was written by original series creator and writer Cris Cole.

‘The Man in the High Castle’ comes from Ridley Scott and is based on the 1962 Philip K. Dick book which examines what would have happened if the Allied Powers had lost World War II. 'X-Files' showrunner Frank Spotnitz joins Scott as executive producer, while also penning the series. The debut episode became Amazon's most watched pilot ever when it hit the streaming service last month.

Alex Gibney’s ‘The New Yorker Presents’ docu-series is a mixture of scripted narrative and documentary segments based on the famous magazine and is being made in conjunction with Conde Nast Entertainment.

Kid’s series ‘Just Add Magic’ is based on Cindy Callaghan’s book of the same name and has been adapted by the team behind cartoon 'Fairly Odd Parents'. ‘The Stinky & Dirty Show’, also aimed at young viewers, is based on the books by Jim and Kate McMullan and was written and developed by ‘The Odd Squad’s’ Guy Toubes.

"These new series, including our first docu-series, are some of our most ambitious to date and I’m looking forward to their premieres in the future," said Amazon VP Roy Price in a statement to announce the new series today.

The streaming service also announced that popular title 'Mozart in the Jungle' would be back for a second season, which will premiere early next year. The series is based on the memoir of Blair Tindall, who played with the New York Philharmonic orchestras as well as working on numerous Broadway shows.

"The first season of 'Mozart in the Jungle' was a big hit with our customers and I’m thrilled that we’re able to produce a second season,” Price said. “[Executive producers] Roman [Coppola], Jason [Schwartzman] and Paul [Weitz] brought viewers into this rarely-seen world of the symphony. I know fans of the series will be in for treat when the second season premieres early next year.” the VP continued.

Gael Garcia Bernal will be reprising his role as conductor Rodrigo De Souza in the second season, while Saffron Burrows, Lola Kirke and Malcolm McDowell have also been confirmed as returning.
