Radiohead fans searching the stars, scanning the horoscopes and reading tea leaves in the hope of discovering when the band might finally release its next album might have some heartening news. The five band members have set up a new company - something they did a few months before releasing their last two albums.

Fans on the Radiohead forum At Ease have ascertained that the band founded a company called Dawn Chorus LLP in October 2015, with the five officers named as the five members of the group (Thom Yorke, Jonny and Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Phil Selway).

RadioheadRadiohead to release a new album imminently?

This replicates the pattern they adopted before the release of 2007’s pioneering ‘pay what you want’ model of In Rainbows (when they set up Xurbia Xendless Ltd) and 2011’s The King of Limbs (which was trailed by Ticker Tape Ltd). These companies released the albums themselves, following Radiohead’s departure from EMI.

Dawn Chorus is registered at a central London address that seems only to be used as a nominal contact point for a great number of bands, and other companies. 213, to be exact, according to endole.co.uk.

So, is this good reason for Radiohead fans to get excited? As yet, the only ‘new’ music we’ve heard from them is the rejected theme tune they put forward for the recent Bond movie Spectre, which seems unlikely to be included on any prospective album of theirs.

Writing on Twitter late in 2015, Radiohead’s guitarist Jonny Greenwood told fans that the group had recorded “lots of material” and were “about to go through it all to see if it’s any good”. He added, tentatively, “we hope to tour next year”.
