Singer Prince has got himself a Twitter account, posting messages from the account of his touring backing band, 3rdEyeGirl, and can be found learning the skills of social networking at "@3rdeyegirl."

Prince
The Mega Selling Artist Has Started To Use Twitter.

The 'Raspberry Beret' singer took his first steps into the weird and wonderful land of snazzy Instagrammed lunches, pouty mirror selfies and 140-character based trolling with the simple yet highly retweeted "PRINCE'S 1ST TWEET... TESTING 1, 2..." This was followed by "PRINCE'S 2ND TWEET" which would lead you to believe that he didn't really get the whole sharing phenomenon.

Looks like someone picked up a copy of "Twitter For Dummies" because his third and fourth tweets were made of the fodder that tweeters thrive on. A snapshot of his lunch salad covered in brown powder was accompanied by the caption: "PRINCE'S 3RD TWEET: DID EYE ADD 2 MUCH PEPPER?" whilst another photo entitled "1st selfie #selfie" was posted that only showed an image of swirling grey smoke on a black background.

Pitchfork reports that the artist has been known to be distrustful of the internet, which is rich considering his fans have had no way of knowing whether the 3rdEyeGirl tweeter is actually him or not, and there are no apparent reasons why the ten platinum album selling singer and guitarist had a change of heart. He apparently posted a video titled 'Let's Go Crazy Reloaded' with the caption "CATCH THIS NOW B4 MY LAWYERS DEW," which has now been removed and replaced with a snippet from a new track, 'Groovy Potential.'

Hear 3rdEyeGirl Track, 'Groovy Potential':

The horn-laced song, indeed, does not hold back on the grooviness and sounds more like the 55 year-old's older work than from his 3rdEyeGirl project that he's been touring with recently. The singer's tracks as a solo artist are largely absent from YouTube due to representatives scouring the site for videos that infringe upon copyright law.
