Prince William invited a woman who was once homeless to their wedding.

The royal and his new wife Kate Middleton - who are now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - tied the knot in front of thousands of invited guests, including visiting dignitaries, celebrities and close friends at London's Westminster Abbey on Friday (29.04.11), and among those in attendance was 20-year-old Shozna.

Shozna - who has not disclosed her surname - told the News of the World newspaper: "It was amazing. Kate Middleton is a beautiful woman.

"It is so sweet Prince William is marrying the girl he loves.

"I've been past the Abbey but I never ever thought I'd be inside."

For the wedding, Shozna - who was left homeless after suffering a serious stroke a year ago - wore a donated £1,500 designer dress.

The brunette received her wedding invitation after impressing the prince with an emotional speech she gave at a charity gala last summer, in which she spoke of how she had turned her life around thanks to Centrepoint, the homeless charity of which William is patron.
