Prince William jetted into Switzerland to resume his official duties yesterday (18.05.15), as The Duchess of Cambridge stayed at home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk to look after one-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, 17 days old.
Prince William has gone back to work after two weeks at home with newborn Princess Charlotte.
The 32-year-old father-of-two jetted into Switzerland to resume his official duties yesterday (18.05.15), as The Duchess of Cambridge stayed at home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk to look after one-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, 17 days old.
In his first overseas engagement since his daughter was born on 2 May, the Duke of Cambridge was in the municipality of Gland in western Switzerland to attend a Wildlife task force meeting at the headquarters of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
He was shown around the IUCN headquarters, which lie on the banks of Lake Geneva, by Director General Inger Andersen and Isabelle Monney, Deputy Mayor of Gland.
Unlike most new fathers, who just get the two weeks paternity leave, William was also lucky enough to take a break from his position with the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service at the end of April before Princess Charlotte arrived.
At the time, a royal spokesperson said that an earlier than scheduled end to his flight training meant he was free to spend time with Kate and George before the Duchess went into labour.
The short trip to Switzerland is said to be a relatively easy royal engagement for the prince to take and conservation is a subject that is close to his heart. He is expected to return to his air ambulance duties next month.
