It's official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged and ready to tie the knot in less than six months. The rest of the Royal Family are reportedly thrilled by the news, as are Meghan's relatives - and, indeed, the public who are bracing themselves for another wave of wedding fever six years after the last royal wedding.

The announcement revealed that the wedding would take place in the Spring of 2018, with the date and other details yet to be confirmed. Plus, it was declared that the couple would live at the glorious Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

'His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month', Clarence House announced in a statement. 'Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents.'

The 33-year-old Prince, who is currently fifth in line to the throne, have been in a relationship for around a year and a half having met in Canada while Harry was promoting the following year's Invictus Games. Indeed, they made their first public appearance as a couple at the opening ceremony of the Toronto event in September 2017.

It hasn't been plain sailing for the pair, however. Kensington Palace was actually forced to release a statement to the press last year to request that the media and public desist from their continuous barrage of 'abuse and harassment' towards the actress.

The royal wedding will be the second happy event of Spring 2018, with Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge's third child due to be born in April. Meghan has been working as an actress on the set of 'Suits' since 2011, but in the wake of their engagement news, it seems she's ready to quit the show in favour of a regal lifestyle.
