Pixie Lott is going to take on Audrey Hepburn's classic 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' after the first UK and Ireland tour of the play by Truman Capote.
Pixie Lott is to make her West End debut as Holly Golightly in a stage version of Audrey Hepburn's 1961 classic 'Breakfast At Tiffany's'.
The 'Mama Do' singer is ''excited'' to be the leading lady in one her ''all time favourite'' plays and considers it a ''dream come true''.
Late 'Funny Face' actress Audrey is an icon of Pixie's and she can't wait to put her own spin on her character.
She said: ''I am so excited to play Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's in my first West End play. I absolutely love Holly's style, and free spirit; she has always been an icon to me and I can't wait to bring my own personality to the role. Alongside music, I've always wanted to be in a play, and getting the opportunity to be in one of my all time favourites and play this fabulous character is a dream come true.''
Tony-winning playwright Richard Greenberg has been tasked with remaking the film for theatre said he intended to keep the tone of the original but more ''rougher-edged and more candid'' than before.
He explained: ''The goal of this version is to return to the original setting of the novella, which is the New York of the Second World War, as well as to resume its tone ' still stylish and romantic, yes, but rougher-edged and more candid than people generally remember. Capote was a great writer and a natural maker of plots and 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' has a drive that makes it very alluring to dramatise.''
The show will run a 12-week residency at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London's West End from 30 June to 17 September 2016.
