Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has been speaking about her “lowest ever ex moment”, revealing she once had a meltdown at an airport.

Perrie did not name Zayn Malik as the ex in question, but the singer has been opening up a lot more about the end of their relationship in recent weeks.

Appearing on Heart London's breakfast radio show, Perrie was asked what her lowest ever ex moment was.

"I was at the airport and I got an awful phone call, erm, from someone. And then… I just… what did I…? I just remember screaming in the airport,” she said.

Confirming the incident, bandmate Jade Thirlwall said: "She had a little mini breakdown in the airport. And it was in the security line and so we thought 'oh god’.”

Leigh-Anne Pinnock added "We literally just made a little shell huddle around her so that no one could see her and we were like 'it’s ok, just let it out’."

Perrie then continued: "I was like a women possessed! It was awful! It just bubbled and bubbled and I thought I was going to explode."

The girls were in America at the time and Jade admitted they were worried that Perrie wouldn't be allowed into the country because she was acting like "a mad woman”.

Perrie then joked: "I was either going to get put back on a flight back to the UK or put in a straitjacket!”

Perrie’s newest revelation comes a day after she appeared to confirm that Zayn did in fact break up with her over text message.

In a leaked extract from Little Mix’s autobiography Our World Perrie writes: ‘It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.'
