Perrie Edwards is ''having a blast'' being single.

The Little Mix star had been engaged to the former One Direction singer Zayn Malik for nearly two years before he called off their engagement by text message two months ago but has found a new lease of life.

She said: ''I'm having an absolute blast. We have a bit of banter with guys in nightclubs ... I love it.

''I love going out. I'm feeling brilliant and I'm in a good place - and I've got new hair.''

The 22-year-old beauty joked her bandmate Jade Thirlwall - who is also single - is a ''bad influence''.

She added: ''We just banter with them - it's fun. Jade can be a bad influence, but she always looks after me and makes sure I don't get too drunk. The other night she was filling my glass with water.''

And fellow 'DNA' singer Jesy Nelson - who is engaged to Rixton's Jake Roche - joked Perrie was ''flying the flag'' for single ladies.

She shared to the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''I love how Jade is often seen as the only single one. Perrie is now also single - she's flying the flag.

''Of course they have lots of guys coming up to them all the time - they're gorgeous.''
