Penelope Cruz's father Eduardo Cruz has reportedly passed away after suffering a fatal heart attack at the home he shared with his wife and young daughter in Spain.
Penelope Cruz's father has reportedly passed away.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' actress' father Eduardo Cruz is believed to have died early this morning (18.06.15) aged 62 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Spain.
The brother of Eduardo's wife Carmen Moreno is said to have confirmed the news to HOLA! magazine.
Medics were reportedly called to the family home at around 2am but could do nothing to save his life, sources told The Truth magazine.
The 62-year-old father-of-four lived with his wife Carmen - who he married in April 2014 after 12 years together - and their three-year-old daughter Salma.
The couple managed a hair and beauty salon together near their home in La Manga.
Eduardo also had three children - Penelope, Monica and Eduardo - from his first marriage to Cruz's mother Encarna Sanchez.
While Penelope has had a successful career in Hollywood, Monica is a television actress in Spain while Eduardo Jr. is a musician who famously dated 'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria.
The 41-year-old actress is said to have enjoyed a close relationship with her father - who is believed to have suffered from heart problems - and previously admitted her family is the most important thing in her life.
Penelope - who has children Leonardo, four, and 23-month-old Luna with husband Javier Bardem - said: ''You need to have time for your own life and as a mother that changes even more.
''Family is the most important thing for me... and if you have children you want to raise them yourself.''
