Owen Wilson has bought his ''close friend'' a $1.5 million home.

The 'Wedding Crashers' star reportedly splashed out on a three-bedroom property in Los Angeles for Caroline Lindqvist and their nine-month-old son, Finn.

A neighbour told Star: ''Caroline likes to take walks with the baby around the area, but she keeps to herself and doesn't really talk to anyone.

''We were excited that he [Owen] bought a house here. Everyone was looking forward to meeting him, but he hasn't visited in months.''

The personal trainer previously rented a one-bedroom apartment in Santa Monica.

She previously admitted she and the 'Midnight in Paris' star, who also has a three-year-old son, Robert Ford, with his ex-girlfriend, Jade Duell, were never in an official relationship.

Announcing her pregnancy last year, she said: ''Owen and I decided to have a child even though we're not in a relationship. And we're not planning on starting a relationship, either.

''Owen and I are two close friends. We are really looking forward to it and can't wait to welcome our child at the end of January.''

The 45-year-old 'The Internship' star supported Caroline throughout the pregnancy and sources previously insisted he would be a hands-on father.
