Justin Jackson and alleged accomplice Angel Agarrat told bosses at Converse and Pandora they were assistants and even family members of Winfrey's to score thousands of dollars in merchandise, according to TMZ.com.

A new lawsuit filed by officials at the Oprah Winfrey Network claims the couple forged Oprah's signature on letters to secure goods they insisted were to be featured on a holiday special.

Jackson went too far when he attempted to score free tickets to Winfrey's empowerment show in Florida, while posing as a member of Johnny Depp's management team.

Winfrey's aides felt sure something was not quite right and they asked the conman to identify himself when picking up the tickets. At that point, he was caught.

It appears Jackson has a history of conning people out of merchandise - TMZ.com reports he pretended to be Madonna's manager back in 2007 and scored almost $2.4 million (£1.6 million) in jewellery before he was arrested and convicted of felony grand theft.
