It was battle of the bands at the 2014 BRIT Awards as One Direction and Arctic Monkeys were both prized with some of the night's biggest honors.
The annual Brit Awards took place on Wednesday night (Feb 19th) at the grand venue of London's O2 arena, and with a line-up that included performances by Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Bastille, Lorde and Katy Perry, the ceremony has to be one of the best to date.
So who did manage to pick up a 2014 BRIT Award?
Indie rockers Arctic Monkeys, who reside from Sheffield, Yorkshire, were once again victorious at their nation's premiere music event.
Arctic Monkeys took home two BRIT Awards
They took home the prize of Album of the Year for their fifth studio set 'AM', which also made history last September (2013) when earning a No.1 spot on the UK charts. This achievement saw 'Monkeys' become the first band on an independent label to have all of their 5 albums reach No.1.
On top of this, the Indie rock band, who opened the night with a performance of 'R U Mine?,' was also honored with the Best British Group award.
"That rock and roll, it seems like it's fading away sometimes," frontman Alex Turner said while accepting the Album of the Year BRIT. "But it will never die, and there's nothing you can do about it." He then randomly added, "Invoice me for the microphone if you need to," before dropping it onto the stage.

Global superstars One Direction didn't go away from their nation's top award show empty handed either.
The former X-Factor boys won the Global Success Award and the fan voted-prize for Best British Video, which was for their hit track 'Best Song Ever'. During their acceptance speech, band member Harry Styles has a tiny bit late compared to his colleagues, and while out of breath he explained into the microphone, "I'm really sorry, I was having a wee."
