Nicki Minaj has slammed the mainstream media's response to her sexy Anaconda video, accusing critics of double standards after they attacked the rapper for exposing her body in the promo.
The Starships hitmaker has become known for showing off her famous curves onstage and in her videos, and Anaconda, an ode to big bottoms, was no different.
However, Minaj found herself under fire from conservative viewers, who accused the hip-hop star of exploiting her body in the name of fame - and now she is fighting back.
In an interview with V magazine, she says, "If a man did the same video with sexy women in it, no one would care.
"You're talking about news people who don't even know anything about hip-hop culture. It's so disrespectful for them to even comment on something they have no idea about.
"They don't say anything when they're watching the Victoria's Secret (lingerie) show and seeing boobs and thongs all day. Why? Shame on them. Shame on them for commenting on Anaconda and not commenting on the rest of the oversexualized business we're a part of."
