Nick Cannon has visited the headquarters of a lupus charity to raise awareness just days after he confirmed he is suffering from a related autoimmune disease.
The rapper/actor has been in and out of hospital over the last few months after suffering problems with his kidneys, and last week (02Mar12) he revealed doctors have diagnosed him with a condition similar to lupus.
He said, "(It is an) autoimmune disease that (doctors) found in my system... They kind of say (my) autoimmune (disease) is - like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it."
Cannon was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (07Mar12) to support a new bill on internet privacy laws and he took time out to visit the offices of the Lupus Foundation of America and spend time with chairwoman Karen Evans.
He subsequently posted pictures of his visit on his Twitter.com blog, and wrote, "Me in D.C. visiting the Lupus Foundation of America. Great day catching up with Karen Evans... Hanging with my friends LupusOrg. Together we can all make a difference! Incredible!"
