The 22 year old is using his break from 1D to set up an agency dedicated to discovering young golfing talent.
Niall Horan is set to put his solo career away from One Direction on hold in order to set up a golf talent agency, according to a new report.
The Sun claimed on Wednesday (February 3rd) that the 22 year old, who is an enthusiastic follower of all kinds of sports, has set up a new firm called Modest Golf Management with the help of 1D’s existing management company (also called Modest).
The company will seek to uncover the best in young British and Irish golfing talent. Horan has set up the firm alongside Mark McDonnel, a former account manager at golf equipment brand TaylorMade, to help him with the project.

“It’s well known Niall loves golf and has been learning from the best out on tour with Rory [McIlroy],” a source close to Horan told the newspaper. “Now he wants to discover exciting new players and give them his backing.”

“Mark [McDonnel] is an absolute legend in the industry and will help him with endorsement. It’s early days but he’s committed.”
Niall has some talent at the game, boasting a current handicap of 12 and once acting as caddy for his friend, Northern Irish golfing hotshot McIlroy, at the Augusta Masters ‘Par 3’ contest last year. It didn’t go entirely according to plan, however, as TV cameras caught the Directioner tripping up while climbing a small hill on the course.

It’s one of the more unlikely courses for a One Direction star to be taking during the group’s indefinite hiatus. Harry Styles recently severed his links with Modest Management in order to pursue a solo career; Liam Payne is writing songs for other major stars; and Louis Tomlinson is up to his eyeballs in nappies as he adjusts to first-time fatherhood.
