The Canadian TV chef, best known for hosting cooking show 'The Main' which aired on Food Network Canada and judging 'Family Cook Off', found an interest in the culinary arts as a teenager when he was a waiter at the Grouse Mountain resort cafeteria. He was soon promoted to work as a cook in the main kitchen at the resort and eventually the Grouse Nest restaurant. After completing a Culinary Arts Program and an apprenticeship, he worked in London where he gained experience and eventually moved back to Canada to work as a sous chef. He won a silver medal at the Hans Bueschken World Junior Chef Challenge in 2006 which led him to begin shooting for 'The Main' and he also wrote the bestselling cookery book also entitled 'The Main'.
Sedlak's body was discovered at 7pm at his North Vancouver home on Friday with the actual time of death as yet unknown. Family and friends of the young chef were left shocked and devastated by the news and the funeral service will commence privately.
