'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' has opened to impressive reviews on Broadway.
The stage adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Mark Haddon debuted at the Barrymore Theatre in New York last night (05.10.14) wowing the audience and critics alike.
The story focuses on a 15-year-old mathematical genius, Christopher Boone - played by Alex Sharp - who suffers from Asperger's syndrome and attempts to solve the mystery of his neighbour's murdered pet dog.
The novel was adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by the Tony Award-wining 'War Horse' director Marianne Elliot, who, according the New York Daily News has produced an "eloquently theatrical and deeply touching" show,
They added that Marianne "proves a master at orchestrating visceral and wildly energetic scenes as well as poignant hushed moments."
However, the undeniable star of the show is recent Julliard graduate Alex who "dazzles" in the lead role "as bright as the high-wattage effects with a physical and emotionally intense star turn."
The production - also starring Francesca Farinday and Ian Barford - previously opened in London's West-End and has taken home 7 Olivier Awards since its debut in 2013.
