Taylor Swift comforted a sick fan who's praised the star for being ''incredibly kind''.

The 'Blank Space' hitmaker reached out to the fan named Emily after reading a post on social media in which the youngster spoke of how the 25-year-old singer's music helped her cope with her congenital heart defect and subsequent operations.

Emily told E! News: ''What she said to me was so incredibly kind and almost unbelievable, and I can't believe she replied with such empathy and understanding.

''I'm so grateful for what she said. It means the world to me.''

Taylor responded after her 'Swfities' - as Taylor Swift fans are known - shared details of her condition.

Posting after her Barclaycard British Summer Time show in London's Hyde Park on Saturday (27.06.15), where she stormed the show with an army of celebrity friends including models Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner, she wrote: ''I think it's amazing that you're so honest about how it's affected you.

''It's impossible to be positive all the time about something that completely terrifies and confuses you, and I'm glad you're not putting that kind of weird pressure on yourself.

''Sending you the biggest hug from my hotel room, where I've just raided the snack bar and eaten everything in the style of a raccoon rummaging through a trash can.''
