Singer/songwriter Andy Kim Will Lead The Class Of 2016 Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame Inductees.
The Montreal-born star, who has sold over 30 million records, became a teenage music sensation in the 1960s and moved to New York, where he worked in the fabled Brill Building, writing songs like How’d We Ever Get This Way?, Rock Me Gently and Sugar, Sugar, which became a huge hit for The Archies.
Announcing his induction on Thursday (05Nov15), Canadian Music Week president Neill Dixon said, "Andy Kim’s contributions to the Canadian and international music community are truly remarkable in his career, which spans over half a century."
"The moment I heard the news I realised this voyage I’m on still surprises," Kim adds. "I’m humbled and honoured to be recognised in the same breath as my great peers and friends in the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame."
His fellow inductees are broadcaster Rob Steele and musicians Andre Menard and Alain Simard.
A gala saluting the quartet will take place at the annual Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Awards Dinner in Toronto in May (16).
