It’s time for the best week of the year – Shark Week! So what can we expect from this year’s celebrations – besides a bunch of media that leaves us terrified to ever go near a large body of water again? Well, for starters, a bunch of celebrities are already excited about Discovery Channel’s 27th annual week of programs about those adorable cuddle puppies of the sea. This year, it felt like we celebrated Shark Week a couple weeks early, with the premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One. And so plenty of famous people were already eager to jump on the toothy bandwagon.

Parks and Recreation star Rob Lowe rides two sharks in the awesome promo for the 2014 event and utters the phrase, "So sharky." Love it.

Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert, being the nerd king that he is, even once declared the week “the holiest of holidays,” which, of course, we all know is true. As he said on The Colbert Report, "It is so easy to forget that the week after Christmas is one of the two holiest of holidays," he said. "The other being, of course, Shark Week.

Apparently, Discovery have indeed taken a cue from Sharknado, at least in the naming department. Air Jaws: Fin of Fury (August 10, 8PM ET) rules supreme among a host of amazing titles, but there are also Lair of the Mega Shark (Aug. 13, 10PM ET), Zombie Sharks (Aug 13, 9 p.m. ET), Alien Sharks: Return to the Abyss (Aug 12, 9 p.m. ET), Shark of Darkness: Wrath of Submarine (Aug 10, 9 p.m. ET) and of course, the people-pleaser of the year, Great White Matrix (Aug 16, 9 p.m. ET). We’re not even kidding. Roll on, Shark Week!
