Both sides have agreed on certain terms, which haven't been announced as of yet.
Director Julie Taymor’s lawsuit against the producers of the musical Spirder Man: Turn off the Dark has finally been resolved. The two sides have come to a settlement, though the terms of the agreement have not been announced.
The case goes back to 2011, when Taymor was fired from her position as director of the musical. She subsequently claimed a violation of her creative rights and lack of acknowledgement of her work on the musical, despite a rocky preview period and lots of technical difficulties. Finally, however, a settlement has been agreed upon by both parties. Michael Cohl and Jeremiah Harris - the musical's lead producers - said in a joint statement that "we're happy to put all this behind us. We are now looking forward to spreading 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark' in new and exciting ways around the world."
Taymore came out with a similar statement today: "I'm pleased to have reached an agreement and hope for the continued success of Spider-Man, both on Broadway and beyond."
The musical was completely altered, following Taymore’s departure, but still failed to reach critical acclaim. Despite this, Spiderman: Turn off the Dark has been one of the highest grossing Broadway productions of the past couple of seasons. Following the settlement, the show is set to begin touring.
