Robbie Savage has revealed being asked to perform at a festival to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee convinced him to dance again.
Britain's Queen Elizabeth convinced Robbie Savage to dance again.
The former footballer had vowed to give up his dancing shoes after taking part in BBC One's 'Strictly Come Dancing' but when he was asked to take part in the Jubilee Family Festival, being staged in London's Hyde Park on June 2 and 3, he couldn't say no.
Speaking at the Sony Radio Academy Awards on Monday (14.05.12), he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I'm going to be dancing again at the Jubilee Family Festival in Hyde Park next month. I had said that was the end of my dancing days after 'Strictly' but when you're asked to do something for the queen you can't really say no.
''It's hard work but I'm really looking forward to it, even though I am a bit nervous. I have to do plenty of training between now and then.''
Judge Craig Revel Horwood will present the performances at the event, to be attended by up to 50,000 people each day, with Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev also set to perform.
Robbie, 2011 winner of the Sony DAB Rising Star Award, hosted this year's VIP Green Room at the Sony Radio Awards. Luke Franks, presenter at Fun Kids Radio, took the title of Rising Star for 2012.
