Riccardo Tisci has extended his contract with Givenchy.

According to industry reports, the designer will remain creative director at the French fashion house for another three years and he is now working with the label on how to take things forward.

Riccardo has helmed the French luxury label since 2005 and is now working with former Prada boss Sebastian Suhl, who joined as CEO in March 2012.

In December, Givenchy announced that it would be taking a break from producing its seasonal couture line in order to concentrate on bespoke ''special projects'', and was not present on the Paris couture schedule.

The fashion house intend to concentrate on their ready-to-wear line and declined to comment on whether there are any plans to create haute couture collections again in the future.

In 2010, Givenchy stopped presenting new collections in large-scale couture catwalk shows, opting instead for intimate presentations.
