Two and a Half Men's star Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake in the show, has given a YouTube 'testimony' about his life and his work with the Forerunner Christian Church, which entirely renounces his commitment to the program and in fact slams it as being ungodly, and even potentially aligning it with Satan.
In the YouTube two-parter, he says that he made a more secure and confirmed commitment to his Christian faith after he saw his life going down hill, smoking weed with his cousins and even taking acid. Apparently, he now sees Two and a Half Men, and consequently his role in it, as oppositional to his faith. "I don't wanna contribute to the enemy's plan' he said. "I don't want to be here... You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't. I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the bible says and being on that television show."
He even urges viewers to stop watching it: "Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. Please. People say it's just entertainment... Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you'll have a decision to make when it comes to television and especially with what you watch on television. It's bad news. It's bad news." He referred to 'the enemy' and said that we're easily unaware of how deceptive 'he' is, because "he's been doing it a lot longer than we've been around."
Interestingly, despite his clear abhorrence of the show, Jones is still working on the show without any word of his resignation or dismissal. He's probably enjoying that $300,000 he gets per episode. On the whole his testimony is really long and quite boring, but if you want to see what else he had to say, check out the two videos below.
In the light of Mr Jones' testimony will you stop watching the show? We'd love to hear what you think, you can tell us in the comments below.
