Insominiac Games will have 'hands-on' role in the movie's production
Insomniac Games have announced that their popular Ratchet & Clank game will be transformed into a movie, due to hit theaters in 2015. The company’s community lead James Stevenson revealed in a statement “One of the biggest questions we've gotten in the last few years is 'When are you going to make a Ratchet & Clank movie? The truth is, we've wanted to do a movie for a long time! Ratchet & Clank's action, humor and galaxy-spanning adventures have really been the basis for a fantastic game series, and we think it’d translate perfectly to the big screen.”

The production companies Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment will be working on the movie. The first foray into film for Rainmaker came with the Weinstein Company-backed Escape From Planet Earth, whilst Blockade have previously created a trailer for Electronic Arts’ Dante’s Inferno. TJ Fixman, who has written all of the Ratchet & Clank games, will also be penning the movie, Gamespot.com revealed in their report today (April 23, 2013).
Insomniac Games will have a “hands-on” role in the movie’s production, they report. A movie announcement teaser was released online, which sees the stars of the game angering their animators, who make them dance to dub-step and remove their clothes in front of the cameras. The teaser ends with the line “never mess with the animators.”
