One of the voice actors who voiced Charlie Brown in the Peanuts specials has been arrested on suspicion of stalking someone, TMZ report today (January 23, 2013). The 56 year-old voice actor, named Peter Robbins, was arrested at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, on the weekend, when a background check revealed that there was an active warrant out for his arrest.

Robbins has voiced the role of the serious young cartoon character Charlie Brown in a number of Peanuts specials, such as A Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. It’s unclear exactly who Robbins is accused of stalking. He’s said to be getting arraigned today, for making a threat to cause great death or bodily injury and stalking. His professional representative had no comment for the media over the accusations. Back in October, Robbins criticised 20th Century Fox over their planned Peanuts movie, accusing them of “lacking creativity and trying to steal the thunder of the original cartoon,” according to The Daily Mail.

Robbins isn’t the only voice actor from a childhood classic to have found himself in trouble in recent months. Kevin Clash, the man who voiced the role of Elmo from Sesame Street found himself on the receiving end of a number of accusations of him engaging in sex with underage boys.
