The music legend was already a popular singer when she met DICk in 1956, and a year later, they tied the knot, marking Cline's second marriage.

They had two children, Julie and Richard, and were married up until Cline's devastating death in a plane crash in 1963, when she was just 30 years old.

Thanks to their marriage, DICk made a lot of connections in the music industry, and entered the business after Cline's passing, working as a record promoter for independent music labels throughout the 1960s and '70s.

However, his constant passion was keeping the artistic legacy of his late wife intact, working with label bosses to compile and oversee reissues of Cline's music, as well as collaborating with filmmakers who brought the singer's story to the big screen in a pair of documentaries.

He also had a hand in 1980 film Coal Miner's Daughter, in which Beverly D'Angelo portrayed Cline, as well as a 1985 movie called Sweet Dreams, in which Jessica Lange played the singer and Ed Harris took on the role of DICk.

DICk married singer Jamey Ryan in 1965 and they had a son together, but the couple divorced in the early 1970s.
