Celebrating its seventh birthday, Parklife returns to its more natural home of Heaton Park, after moving their since 2014 to accommodate with greater attendances. A park Oasis made famous in 2009 performing to just under a quarter of a million people over three nights. 

Whilst sister festival Wildlife has chosen a lineup that entertains all genres of music, which sees Disclosure and Rudimental headline again, Parklife has taken a more electronic approach, which a touch of hip to go with. 

Joining the headliners for Parklife 2016 are Jamie XX, Groove Armada, Annie Mac, Seth Troxler and the Martinez Brothers, Joris Voorn, Hot Since 82, Four Tet and Gorgon City, providing all aspects of electronica. Whilst Ice Cube, Busta Ryhmes, Skepta, Stormzy and Craig David TS5 will bring that ghetto hip hop vibe to the grass fields. 

After a seemingly perpetual sabbatical, Craig David has re-launched his career this year, appearing on whatever Radio show that will take him, most notably performing at the Radio 1 live lounge with covers and new material, effortlessly showcasing he still has the ability to rap and sing his way through a song. 

Once an international platinum selling artist, Craig David began hosting and DJ'ing house parties in L.A to such an extent they became the lure of so many fans, after being eventually 'leaked' over soundcloud, forcing the artist to take TS5 around the world - and now to Parklife. 

For those thinking Craig David's success with the Artful Dodger seems like a lifetime ago, save a thought for Ice Cube. Only a few years off 50, the veteran west coast ex-N.W.A star will bring a back catalogue of hits to Manchester, hopefully including the likes of Express Yourself and F*** the Police. Having recently being nominated for an Oscar for his role in producing movie Straight Outta Compton, Cube seems to have found the love the entertaining the crowds again. 

Though the hip hop star may hog a lot of the limelight, he will do well to steal the thunder from headliners Chemical Brothers, who have already received so many plaudits for the current set they are touring with, which began at the very back end of last summer, coinciding with the release of the latest album Born in the Echoes. 

Already topping a lot of festival bills this year, expect the London-born disc jockeys to have a very heavy set, full of classics like 'hey boy hey girl', as well new hits like 'sometimes I feel so deserted' and 'Go', featuring Q-Tip; two artists that have such an excellent synergy. 

After such epic sets headlining Creamfields and Bestival last year, fully expect the weekend of June 11th and 12th to be something of very similar quality.
