In an announcement that was considerably less unexpected than LeBron James's revelation that he was forsaking the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat, The Producers of American Idol said today that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will replace Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres as judges on American Idol . The webacast of the decision, presented by Ustream as part of an online mini-show hosted by Ryan Seacrest, was hampered by sound problems (actually no sound at all) until virtually the very end when Seacrest brought Tyler, Lopez and returning judge Randy Jackson together on stage to take their bows in front of an audience of screaming Idol fans.
