Miss Zimbabwe has been stripped of her title after allegedly stripping off for nude photographs.
Emily Kachote, Miss Zimbabwe 2015, has been stripped of her title. Kachote has been embroiled in a nude photo scandal for almost a month but the Miss Zimbabwe Trust announced their decision on Thursday (11th June), claiming such “immoral” behaviour was grounds for disqualification.

"The Miss Zimbabe executive board would like to inform the nation that it has decided to dethrone Miss Emily Kachote as Miss World Zimbabwe 2015. Being in a relationship, sexual advances to anyone and any behavior categorized as immoral by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust is grounds for instant disqualification and dethronement,” the Trust said in a statement (via E!).
The situation was first brought to media attention when rumours of the existence of such photographs leaked online. Kachote responded and posted a statement on Facebook in which she accused those holding the photographs of “blackmail” and promised “I will remain Miss Zimbabwe hopeful I will become Miss World soon.” Evidently, the Trust had other ideas.
Speaking to reporters, Kachote claimed she was unaware of the existence of any such photographs. They are believed to have been taken without her consent by an ex-boyfriend. She posted a statement on Facebook in which she stated she was in discussing with her attorney and was planning on holding a press conference within the next few days.
This is the second time a Miss Zimbabwe crown holder has been caught up in a nude photo scandal. The winner of the crown in 2014, Thabiso Phiri, was pressured into resigning from her position after nude photographs were leaked online. The runner-up, Tendai Hunda, was crowned shortly after Phiri’s resignation. In the case of Kachote, runner-up Annie Mutambu has stepped in to replace her as Miss Zimbabwe 2015.
