Sylvester Stallone posted a video showing Jordan getting knocked out, for real, by Liverpudlian boxer Tony Bellew.
Creed star Michael B. Jordan has been maintaining throughout all the promotional work he’s done for his new movie that he’s not actually a boxer, but an actor. However, he sure does look convincing as a real-life pugilist, particularly in a new video posted by co-star Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone, 69, released a short clip on Twitter of Jordan warming up in the ring with English professional cruiserweight boxer Tony Bellew, who promptly unleashed a right hook and knocked Jordan unconscious – for real! Talk about suffering for your art.
Filming took place in Liverpool at the start of 2015, with Bellew playing Jordan’s English opponent ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan.

“Michael B Jordon [sic], 'young creed and 'getting KO'd for real! But he got up and did it again! That's called guts!!” Stallone captioned his tweet. However, Jordan revealed recently that things like this were not accidents, as they were intended to make everything on camera as real as possible.

“The way we approached it was that every punch was a line,” Jordan said during conversation on SiriusXM. “Every fight was its own scene. So we tried to look at it like that so you’re not just throwing punches for no reason.”

Creed has been a well-received critical and commercial success since it was released back on November 19th (though it’s not out in the UK until February), and there have been rumours of nominations and prizes come awards season.
Stallone received a Golden Globe nod for Best Supporting Actor for reprising his iconic role as Rocky Balboa – coincidentally, the first Globes nomination he’s received since the original Rocky was released in 1976.
