Margherita Missoni is pregnant.

The Missoni fashion house heiress is expecting her first child with her racing driver husband, Eugenio Amos, and was pictured at the launch of Carine Roitfeld's latest CR Fashion Book issue on Wednesday night (06.03.13) cradling a visible baby bump.

The 30-year-old star - who is the granddaughter of the fashion house's founders - had managed to conceal her pregnancy during her recent appearances at Milan Fashion Week by donning loose-fitting clothing and keeping her coat wrapped around her.

Margherita and Eugenio got married in Brunello, Italy, last June, and the happy couple's nuptials were attended by fashion royalty including Carine Roitfeld, Charlotte Dellal and Mario Testino.

The Missoni family have been in turmoil since Margherita's uncle and co-owner of the luxury brand, Vittorio Missoni, went missing on January 4 in Venezuela after the aircraft he was travelling in with his wife, two friends and two crew members fell off-radar en route to Caracas.

The Italian knitwear brand recently announced they would be launching a diffusion line to create a more affordable range of clothes, although plans are still in the early stage.

Margherita said: ''You need to evolve. If you sit for a moment, you're not relevant in fashion anymore.''
