Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui has branded rumours she's dating Louis Tomlinson ''ridiculous''.

The 18-year-old singer was spotted in a taxi leaving London nightclub Libertine with the One Direction hunk in the early hours of Monday morning (01.06.15), but has slammed suggestions they're dating, as it was the first time she had ever met the 23-year-old musician.

Speaking about the rumours, she told BANG Showbiz: ''I think it's actually ridiculous considering that was like our first night hanging out, ever. It was the first time we got to spend time with them so yeah.''

The 'Worth It' hitmaker's confirmation of her single status comes after she admitted she had received a tirade of abuse from legions of One Direction fans on Twitter who called her ''ugly'' and ''fat''.

However, the raven-haired beauty - who has previously been romantically linked to The Vamps member Brad Simpson - revealed she takes no notice of the comments, saying: ''I actually ignore them.''

And while the 'Sledgehammer' singers shared a stage with fellow girl group Little Mix at the Capital Summertime Ball with Vodafone at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday (06.06.15), they insisted they feel no competition with them because they both stand for positive ideals.

They added: ''There's room definitely for the both of us. People try and make it out to be exactly like that, girls against girls, but both of us are all about girl power and empowering women to stick up for each other and support each other, which is exactly what we intend to do.''
