Kordell Stewart, the former Pittsburgh Steelers star known as 'Slash' during his playing days, has filed for divorce from his wife Porsha Williams, star of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta'. According to documents filed in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia and obtained by TMZ.com the 40-year-old NFL star filed for divorce on March 22, 2012.

Stewart and Williams were married in May 2011 though had no children together, which started to become an issue. Porsha wanted to have kids and a career in charity work, though Kordell told her she had to choose. The football star called the marriage "irretrievably broken" in the documents and claimed the couple are now separated.

It's likely Kordell won't have to pay a penny to his wife, claiming, "[She's] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself." He also says there are no marital assets to divide up, suggesting there is a prenuptial agreement in play. A highly paid quarterback in his time, Kordell's biggest career contract was worth $27 million over five years, according to Celebrity Net Worth.com. However, he was often considered one of the most overpaid players in the year and left the NFL in 2005 to make television appearances on the likes of Deal or No Deal and The Real Housewives with Porsha.

Earlier this year, Porsha - the granddaughter of civil-rights leader Hosea Williams - defended her husband when asked about his sexuality during an interview with Power 105 FM's Breakfast Club. "I don't know any details of all that. There's lies out there on the Internet about all kinds of celebrities."
