Just a few days after releasing her first self-directed video, Ke$ha made a much more unpleasant announcement.
Kesha Rose Sibert, better known as her stage personality Ke$ha, made news on Friday with the surprise admission that she has been battling an eating disorder for a while. The Timber singer, who has been looking noticeably less like herself in recent appearances, has announced that she will take a break and check into rehab for 30 days.
The singer has been looking noticeably slimmer in recent months.
Ke$ha, who has been an advocate for mental health throughout her career, had this to say on the matter, via TMZ: "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice. I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am."
Ke$ha will keep a low profile over the coming month.
According to the gossip site’s sources, Ke$ha has checked into the Timberline Knolls rehab facility near Chicago, the same place Demi Lovato went for her issues. Fans of both performers have rallied in support on Twitter. Ke$ha herself tweeted on New Year's Eve about 2014 being a year of "truth and freedom", perhaps foreshadowing the difficult announcement.
The singer just recently released her directorial debut music video. Dirty Love sees Ke$ha performing in her trademark style to a more rock-inspired track than we’ve heard from her below. The slightly NSFW video is very minimal (well, minimal for her) – just Ke$ha, a couple of dancers and of course plenty of glitter and confetti – just the way Ke$ha fans like it.
and truth is. this is my fave song off my record check the the video.
