JK Rowling is apparently a natural lyricist as well as a novelist. She has not only written the screenplay for the upcoming movie 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', but also an original song entitled 'Blind Pig' that you are sure to get an earful of if you go to see it this weekend.

The 'Harry Potter' author has teamed up with composer James Newton Howard to write a lively jazz number for 'Fantastic Beasts', starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, about a broken romance, mentioning a fair few 'fantastic beasts' along the way such as the phoenix, dragon, billywig, unicorn and hippogriff.

It's named after the speakeasy bar featured in the film which Newt and his friends Queenie and Porpentina Goldstein visit and converse with the goblin owner Gnarlack. We first hear the song in the film from a female goblin performing it inside the pub.

This news is almost as exciting as when the fictitious wizard-rock band the Weird Sisters was actually formed for 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' (featuring Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey of Pulp, Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway of Radiohead, Steven Claydon of Add N to (X) and Jason Buckle of All Seeing I), complete with three original songs that were played out in full in the end credits.

But 'Do The Hippogriff', 'This Is the Night' and 'Magic Works' were written by Cocker; as far as we know, the only other song Rowling has written for the magical universe that was used in film was 'The Hogwarts Song' which was actually in a deleted scene from 'Goblet Of Fire'.

'Blind Pig' is sung by British-born Australian singer Emmi, a rising star who has written songs for Massive Attack and Little Nikki, been praised by Taylor Swift and BBC Radio 1, and had one of her songs - 'Our Youth' - used in a Pepsi Max commercial.

'I knew the song was called 'Blind Pig' but I had no idea why, because there's no mention of a pig in it', she told Pottermore. 'I now know it's because that's the name of the speakeasy, but I found that fact out online like everybody else. I thought it was some codename to cover up what the song was about. It's been like a hilarious mystery.'

The singer (whose real name is Emily Green) released her debut single 'My Kinda Swag' in 2015 and this year has seen her perform at The Great Escape Festival and BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. She also won MTV's Brand New For 2016 in Australia and New Zealand.

'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is out in theatres today (November 18th 2016).
