Jil Sander made her long awaited return to the fashion world as she returned to the label that bears her name to design the 2013 spring collection that went on display at the Milan Fashion Week yesterday (September 22nd).

The fashionista presented a display that was unusually minimalist given the usual splashes of colour found in just about every nook and cranny of Milan during the well-established vogue parade. This was every bit the Jil Sanders we know and love though as it is her minimalist emphasis that has made Sanders such a popular designer over the years and the same emphasis that has meant that the label has survived despite her long absence.

After unveiling the new line of skirts, blazers and blouses, all of which had a familiar colour scheme and pattern-less design running throughout it, the designer then took to the catwalk herself to not only announce her return to her own fashion house, but her return to the business that she abandoned all those years ago. She told the onlookers that her return had been "far more emotional than I expected, but I feel great to be here. I hope you enjoyed the first step," she added, before having to be pulled from the stage to oversee her second show.
