So Jessa Duggar got hitched to Ben Seewald, but she didn’t kiss him during the ceremony. I’ll try to explain until that sentence makes sense. See Jessa, in case you didn’t know, is famous from her family’s reality series 19 Kids and Counting.  The couple tied the knot in front of nearly 1,000 guests at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, AK.

The bride went against tradition slightly, by donning a beige dress instead of white. She wore her .75 carat diamond ring on her finger. The Duggars, being incredibly religious, aren’t much for PDA in general, but their other daughter, Jill shared her first kiss with husband Derrick Dillard in front of all their guests.

But Jess and Ben had a pretty solid reason. According to Us Weekly, the couple wanted to “experience that special moment together in private.” Because of her family’s strict Southern Baptist traditions, Jessa and Ben were not to be intimate or even be together until they were officially married.

"As far as our kids dating, we believe a lot of times if you're alone with a person, it can create desires that can kind of get stirred up, and you don't have any accountability, and [that] can lead to some hanky panicky," Jessa's father, Jim Bob Duggar explained.
