Jake Roche's mother was nearly thrown out of Manchester Arena while he was proposing to Jesy Nelson.

The 22-year-old Rixton frontman asked his 24-year-old Little Mix singer girlfriend to marry him yesterday (19.07.15) on stage at the venue where they first met a year ago, and while Ed Sheeran was also on hand to perform Jesy's favourite song 'Tenerife Sea', security guards tried to stop anyone else getting onto the stage - including Jake's mum Coleen Nolan.

Coleen said: ''We had to hide behind the curtains until Jake came out, so she didn't spot any of us, so as Jake came out, we all came out at the side of the stage and one of the security guards tried to throw me out!''

Coleen thinks Jesy and Jake will have a big wedding, and the happy couple won't be waiting around to tie the knot.

Speaking on British TV show 'Loose Women', the presenter said: ''I hope [they have a big wedding]. Although they are young, they're just so in love, I can't see it being five or six years away. I think they'll be getting straight onto it, in the next year or two.''

Coleen also insisted her daughter-in-law to be is ''lovely'' and ''down-to-earth'', and she also gets on very well with Jesy's mum, Jan.

The 'I'm In The Mood For Dancing' hitmaker added: ''[Jesy] is such, such, such a lovely girl and so down-to-earth. Seeing them together is a joy and her mum, Jan is fabulous and we just all click. It's lovely actually.''
