Rixton singer Jake Roche says his band won't be ''losing any sleep'' over Zayn Malik's decision to quit One Direction, a choice he can't really understand.
Rixton frontman Jake Roche can't really understand why Zayn Malik left One Direction.
The 22-year-old singer finds it perplexing that Zayn would want to walk out on the world's biggest boy band, especially when there are so many people who would love to be in his position.
When asked if he can relate to Zayn leaving One Direction, the 'Me and My Broken Heart' singer told BANG Showbiz: ''No, not really. He's got millions in the bank and I ain't got s**t!
''We are not going to lose sleep over him leaving. But I think they will go on to keep smashing it and so will he. So we wish them all the best.''
Jake does think Zayn made the right decision to quit 1D if being in the group was making him unhappy as nothing is more important in life than having good health.
The musician - who is dating Jesy Nelson, the Little Mix bandmate of Perrie Edwards, who is engaged to Zayn - added: ''If he feels more happy now he's decided to leave, then I think that's great.''
''I think your health is more important, more than anything else.''
Although Rixton often get compared to One Direction, the group's bassist Danny Wilkin thinks they're very different acts.
Danny, 24, said: ''We don't class ourselves as anything. I always thinks of boy bands as having great voices but can't play instruments ... We can play instruments.''
Rixton have teamed up with Cornetto for a competition to win the ultimate after prom party, at which the band will perform for the lucky winner's year group. To watch their music video for 'We All Want The Same Thing' go to www.youtube.com/user/cornettouk
