Stuart Hall, the It's a Knockout presenter and original host of A Question of Sport, has been arrested in relation to historic allegations of rape and sexual assault, according to the Telegraph.
An unnamed member of his family assured them that "It's all allegations, there's no charges, no convictions." With any mention of rape or sexual assault at the moment, the immediate though harks back to Jimmy Savile, however accordinfg to the Guardian, the investigation related to Stuart Hall has nothing to do with Operation Yewtree- the name given to the series of investigations surrounding the Jimmy Savile.
The Lancashire police refused to identify the arrested man by name but a spokesman person for the police said: "An 82 year old man from Wilmslow in Cheshire has this morning been arrested by Lancashire Police at his home address on suspicion of rape and indecent assault. The man will be interviewed at a police station during the course of the day. The allegations are historic. We are not prepared to discuss further." Adding, "We would encourage people with any information about sexual abuse or who has been a victim of sexual abuse to come forward and report their concerns confident in the knowledge it will be investigated appropriately and with sensitivity."
